Actually, there are tens of thousands, if not millions of cures for cancer. Its generic name is: "The power of Human Beings to heal themselves" while its specific names are the names of all those inspiring souls who have claimed that power, and through whatever means, have healed themselves of cancer. Perhaps you personally know such a person- maybe more than one. The alternative/ holistic shelves of our bookstores carry dozens of books written by and about such people and the means by which they have healed themselves- some are even written by medical practitioners!

In my 25 years as a professional healer I have been privilaged to assist in and facilitate many such healings. Take a look on the internet: there are myriad pages giving detailed descriptions of therapeutic treatments of cancer with proven success which do not rely on radical surgical or chemical intervention. Mostly they are holistic, in that they treat all aspects of the person. First priority in most cases is alleviation of the stress which has caused the body's immune system to malfunction allowing cancerous cells to develop undetected and unchecked. Nutrition & lifestyle play a big part too. Often there is some fairly simple curative agent, such as a herbal preparation which is effective in halting and reversing the growth of cancerous cells without noxious side effects.

From my own perspective, a complete "cure" would also involve getting to the psycho-emotional roots of what may have caused the cancer in the first place- often years or even decades before its symptoms first appeared- and healing them through compassion and forgiveness.

The search for a "cure for cancer" fuels a multi-billion dollar industry. The longer the search goes on, the greater the profits and job-security of the seekers! Actually finding a cure- still worse, an effective means of prevention- would be the end of the road for the countless pharmaceutical research facilities, extremely expensive oncology hospital units and all the associated infrastructure. What you will also notice if you take the time to do a little research on the internet is that most of the documented alternative cures or treatments for cancer have come under enormous negative pressure from the conventional medical / pharmaceutical institutions which have used their considerable political muscle to bring in legislation which makes the development of, and the public's access to such remedial options ever more difficult- even illegal. Indeed in America it is now against the law to even use the word "cure" in relation to cancer except in the medical context!

It is not my intention here to diminish the huge challenge laid down to those of us who have faced or are presently facing up to a diagnosis of cancer, nor to diminish the great work going on daily in hospitals around the world. Like many of you, I too have lost people near and dear to me and shared their heroic battle for life. But rather than a diagnosis of cancer being a death sentence, let it be an invitation to reclaim one's Life in the full sense of the word, and become a wiser and more empowered person as a result. Rather than meeting the shocking news of a friends or loved one's diagnosis with pity and prayers for a cure, BE the answer to the prayer! Offer belief, encouragement, and practical support. Inform yourself about the many alternative therapeutic approaches to healing cancer and pass this information on. Read the countless inspiring accounts of those who have already walked the healing path successfully- spread the word:
