Greetings,
Several attempts to fix it got me nowhere so I called our local mechanic, Antonio, and based on his advice decided to continue our journey home. We breathed a great sigh of relief as we pulled up outside Antonio's garage in Lanjaron, the challenging two-hour drive was over and we had made it intact. Or
so we thought. As I tried to manoeuver into the parking space I realized
that I now had no gears! Antonio quickly restored the clutch. Or so
we thought! As I began to reverse the car to move it into the garage
for further study, there was no reverse gear. Additional emergency repair
attempts were futile. We could only move forward. Had
we damaged the car? Should we have taken it to a garage near the Malaga
Airport? After indulging in a severe bout of self-flagillation and second
guessing, we recovered our sanity long enough to look a little deeper
into the situation...... What did it mean? Trouble changing gears, no
reverse gear, couldn't back up...... No way of going backwards! There it was in a flash, the message from the Universe was clear, ‘There is no going back!' Recently we had been contemplating giving up our life in Spain and returning to Ireland. Though such a prospect did not fill us with joy, we had been finding many logical reasons to return. We wondered if we needed to be practical even though it meant giving up on our dream. We had been seriously contemplating what, to us, was going backwards. Acknowledging
the message, we decided to be open to our dream and to miracles, no
matter how small. Within days of this energy shift, doors began to open.
Suddenly there were new prospects for developing and expanding my healing
practice. And new areas opened up for Claudia's art. It had taken expensive
‘sledgehammer guidance', but we were back on track, back to our
dream with renewed commitment and enthusiasm. Life is continually ‘talking' to us, yet often we are in such a disconnected state of mind that we simply do not hear. If the message is important, the volume must get turned up until, finally, we do take note. Hopefully we'll receive the next message without having to do serious damage to our vehicle. May your tuning in to the connected wisdom and guidance of Life be more gentle and harmonious!
Heaven & Earth Centre, Lanjaron, Spain: Here the healing powers of nature pervade the senses. The surrounding countryside is a paradise for walkers and nature lovers. During Spring and early Summer the hillside is a veritable Garden of Eden with its abundance of wildflowers and herbs, whilst exotic birds such as the golden oriole, bee-eater, and hoopoe abound. Eagles can be seen to soar overrhead. The well-trodden GR7 footpath passes by the centre on its way to the neighbouring picturesque village of Canar, whilst a little higher up the mountain the Parque Natural is a magnificent wilderness of pine forrest, river and waterfalls--perfect for vision quests and really getting away from it all.
